Is scarring affecting your confidence?

Would the improvement of the appearance of your scars, whether caused by injury, acne or burns, make a difference to your confidence levels?  If so, Glo Laser & Beauty has a team of trained, passionate therapists who understand that each individual and their scars are different, which means that they will be able to advise you on which treatment would be the most effective in your particular case.

While scarring may differ in terms of shapes, sizes, colour and texture from one person to the next, as the natural healing process of your skin after an injury, there are also certain factors that need to be taken into account which can determine the healing process of your skin and the formation of the resulting scar.

Some of these factors include the size of the wound, your age, race, genetics and gender, and different types of scars present a different appearance, depending on these various factors and which are applicable to you.

Keloid scars occur from the overgrowth of scar tissue and appear at the site of previous skin injury, which usually includes symptoms like a lumpy or ridged area of skin that is usually raised.

People with darker skin tones are more prone to the development of keloid scars as this is determined by genetics, and cannot successfully be removed without running the risk of further keloid formation.

Don’t despair though, the team at Glo Laser & Beauty fully understand the that all scars are different, which is why they have more than just one method to help reduce the appearance of some scars, book a consultation with them before you decide there is no help for you!

Other types of scars include contracture scars, which occur if you have suffered a burn injury that gives the skin a tightened appearance.  Then there are Hypertrophic scars, which is a cutaneous condition characterised by deposits of excessive amounts of collagen, resulting in a raised scar, but not to the degree that is seen with keloid scars, these scars are a lot easier to treat as well.

Acne scarring has been the cause of loss of confidence for many of us who live with the result of acne lesions that have healed, most of which also differ in depth and colour from person to person, but there is help at hand through the various treatments offered at Glo Laser & Beauty for anyone living with acne scarring!
