Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition affecting women of
reproductive age. It is characterised by an imbalance in reproductive hormones, which
can interfere with normal ovarian function.

This imbalance may lead to:

• Irregular or absent menstrual cycles
• Elevated levels of androgens (male hormones)
• Disrupted ovulation
• Development of small cysts on the ovaries

PCOS is also associated with an increased risk of long-term health concerns such as
insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
