Do I need to prep before my appointment?

We prefer if you arrive without any makeup on. Please do not curl your eyelashes or wear any mascara the day before and on the day of your appointment. This allows for less cleaning time and more lashing time.

Will it ruin or cause my natural lashes to fall out?

No. Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. Bear in mind that once you have started applying lash extensions it so often happens that once they are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser because you’ve been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.

How long does it take to apply lash extensions?

About 1.5 hours for a full set. It all depends on the set you get.

How long will my new lashes last?

Between 2-4 weeks depending on your natural lash life cycle. Your skincare routine can also have an effect on how long your lashes last.

How often should I be coming in for lash refills?

We recommend getting refills every 2 to 4 weeks. Refills can take from 45 – 60 minutes, depending on the state of your remaining lashes.

Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?

Yes you can apply mascara BUT, you may only apply water-based mascara.DO NOT use waterproof or oil based mascara. They will dissolve the bonding agent of the extensions and will cause them to fall out sooner.

Can I swim, shower or exercise while wearing lash extensions?

Yes you can. The bonding agent allows for swimming, showering and exercise. However, we recommend that you don’t wash your eye area, swim or exercise for at least 24 hours after lash extension application. If you let the bonding agent to completely dry it will prolong the life of the extensions.

Lash extensions can be defined as the process of synthetic hairs that are bonded directly onto your own natural eyelashes. We make sure that the health of your natural lashes is maintained by isolating each lash before applying the extension.

At Glo Laser & Beauty we offer a wide variety of lengths, thicknesses and curls in order to custom design a set of lashes for you. Your perfect lashes will last 3-4 weeks, thereafter a touch-up treatment is necessary. When lash extensions are applied correctly, it can be worn on a long-term basis without damaging the natural lashes.

How do lash extensions work?

At Glo Laser & Beauty, we encourage all first-time clients to first book a free consultation with a therapist in order to establish what type of look and shape you want and whether the desired end-product is feasible in-house.

Your eyes and lashes have to be free of makeup to ensure the lash extensions bond correctly to the host lash. Therefore, we please ask you to make sure your lashes are perfectly clean. We advise you to make use of an oil-free remover and mild soap. This will make the lash extensions last the indicated amount of time and not fall off within the first week.

Your Glo Laser & Beauty therapist will also clean your lashes again to ensure they are free from any proteins and oils. Pads are then placed under each eye on top of your lower lash. This is done to make sure the lower lash is not in the way and that they don’t get glued together with the top lash. And now it is nap time. Your eyes will be kept closed for the rest of the lash extensions procedure. This procedure takes more or less 2 hours.
