Beauty Secrets from Around the World

Beauty Secrets from Around the World
France:
French women are known for their beautiful glowing skin, so what is their secret? It’s milk! Cleopatra who was known for her beauty took regular milk baths, and French women are following the same routine. As crazy as it sounds, there is truth behind this method. Lactic acid found in milk is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid, it helps to dissolve dead skin cells, unclog pores and hydrate the skin. If you want to try this, simply pour 2-3 cups of milk into your bath water (you can also add some honey) and soak in the bath for 10-20 minutes. Your skin will then be left soft, smooth, radiant and glowing.
Morocco:
Moroccan women are famous for their healthy skin and hair. This is due to the fact that they include Argan oil in their beauty routine. Argan oil, often referred to as “liquid gold” is an oil from the Argan tree, native to Morocco. It is rich in beneficial nutrients such as Vitamin E and essential fatty acids as well as antioxidants to maintain healthy hair, skin and nails. Argan oil can be used as a leave-in conditioner to nourish the hair or to treat frizzy hair and split ends. It can also be used as a skincare product for many skin problems such as dryness, acne, signs of skin ageing and even sensitivity. It is easily absorbed and does not leave a greasy feel to the skin. Argan oil can also be used as a nail and cuticle treatment to help soften and nourish them.
Scandinavia:
Women from Scandinavia swear by this trick- they splash or spray their faces with ice cold mineral water during the day to keep their skin looking fresh and firm. This also helps to alleviate any puffiness on the skin, especially puffiness around the eyes that a lot of people tend to struggle with.
Spain:
Spanish women treat dark circles around their eyes by cutting a potato into thin slices and placing them on their eyes for 10 minutes. The potatoes help to lighten darkness around the eye area, and if this remedy is done regularly darkness around the eyes may disappear gradually.
Sweden:
Women in Sweden believe that steam is the best thing for healthy skin. Steam is an important part of their skin care routine. It helps to make the skin look and feel fresh and clean by helping to remove any impurities within the pores and stimulating blood circulation. This can be done at home with a bowl of hot water and a towel or even in the bath or shower.
Japan:
The Japanese are known to have flawless and radiant skin. This is due to the fact that they stay out of the sun as much as possible. It is not uncommon to see people in Japan walking with umbrellas when they are outside. Sun exposure may give your skin a temporary healthy glow but the long term effects will definitely make you want to avoid unnecessary sun exposure. Over time sun exposure may lead to a leathery, wrinkled and pigmented skin. Just the thought of that is enough to want to make you cover up and stay out of the sun.

Dominican Republic:
One great way to strengthen brittle nails that very few people have ever thought of is to use garlic. Fresh garlic can be chopped finely and added to a clear nail polish or base coat, leave it for about a week and a half and apply it to your nails. Just don’t do this right before you are headed out, the smell of garlic will be present for a few hours. This simple trick will leave your nails strong and prevent breaking and chipping.
Chile:
If you would like to get the same vibrant glowing skin as the women from Chile, then follow this simple recipe. Crush a handful of red grapes and mix it with a few tablespoons of white flour, apply it to a clean, dry face as a mask and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. You will notice your skin will have a glowing and healthy look to it. This is the perfect treatment for a dull skin complexion in need of a boost.
Australia:
Stretch marks normally appear after rapid weight gain or during pregnancy. It is a form of scar tissue and extremely hard to get rid of, this doesn’t mean you will have to live with it for the rest of your life. Australian Aboriginal women have been using Yarrow extract for generations to get rid of stretch marks. Yarrow extract is rich in moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help for most skin irritations and healing of wounds including scars.
