The simplicity of beauty remedies for glowing skin.

Your kitchen is filled with goodies and ingredients that can be used as natural beauty remedies, and trying them out can be a fun experience.
The results will also tell you whether the specific treatment is right for your skin or not, without causing any negative effects, which you may experience with over the counter products you’re trying for the first time.
If you’re not trying out natural beauty remedies, remember that professional beauty products available at your favourite beauty salon will be far better for your skin than those purchased over the counter.
At Glo Laser & Beauty in Pretoria, the team of experienced beauty therapists will be able to guide you towards the right high quality, clinically tested beauty products that’ll nourish your skin in-between salon visits.
Now that that’s out of the way, here are a few great natural beauty remedies you can try at home, focussing on cleansers for dry, oily and aging skin:
Aging Skin:
Anti-aging yoghurt & lemon cleanser – you’ll need:
1 Tablespoon of organic plain yogurt
1 Teaspoon of lemon juice (not the one in the bottle!)
Once you’ve mixed these ingredients, apply the cleanser to face and neck, leave it on for about a minute or two and rinse it off with warm water.
Why it works
The high content of lactic acid in the yogurt has an exfoliating effect (much the same as the milk baths Cleopatra took), while the vitamin C in the lemon gives your skin a fresh look.  Make a little each time you want to use it as it won’t last.
Oily Skin:
Honey face wash
Massage a teaspoon of raw honey into your face, leave on for anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes, rinse with warm water and you’re ready to go.
Emergency honey treatment for pimples!  If you’ve got a pimple that’s really irritating you and you want it gone, cover it with a little honey, leave it on to about 15 minutes and watch the magic happen once you rinse it off with warm water!
Why it works:
Honey is a beautifully simple way to reduce oil without stripping the skin of all its moisture, which is exactly the combination you need!
Dry skin
Olive oil cleanser – you’ll need:
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • few drops of lavender essential oil
Massage this cleanser into your skin and remove it with a face cloth that’s been soaked in warm water. This olive oil and lavender essential oil is also a great for makeup removal, you may just have to do it a few times to remove all makeup.
Why it works:
Olive oil hydrates skin, boosts moisture levels and contains antioxidants that bring a healthy glow to dry skin.  Make sure that you only use certified virgin olive oil!
Have fun and experiment, who knows, you may just hit on the perfect natural beauty remedy for glowing skin.
