The basics of treating fine lines and wrinkles

Living in South Africa with our daily exposure to the sun, no matter how limited even in winter, means that no matter what your age is you have to make it an absolute necessity not to step out your front door without sunscreen, specifically suited to your skin type.
In your twenties, this is the first line in defence of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as you age, the next is to make sure that you are using an age and skin appropriate moisturiser, avoid breakout products because they could well be adding to any dryness you may be experiencing.
Wash your face daily and never go to sleep in your makeup, it’s a wonderful way to ensure that gunk will just be absorbed by your skin.  If after cleansing your skin feels like its squeaky clean, what you have really done is strip it of important natural oils, with an end result of dry, itchy and tight skin.  Choose a cleanser that is appropriate to your skin type and age.
Make a point of looking for a moisturiser that contains a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and a SPF of 30; your beauty therapist at GLO Laser and Beauty will know exactly which of our chosen range of Lamelle moisturising products will be best for the moisturising protection depending on your age group.
In your 30’s your complexion may become dull because this is the age where cell turnover starts slowing down, which means that you will have to start a regime of regular exfoliation, but please consult your consultant at GLO about this as over-exfoliation can also lead to damage. This is also the age where you may start noticing fine lines and wrinkles, but help is always at hand to keep these changes at bay with the right products to suit your age.
In terms of moisturising, nourish your skin with a serum containing vitamin c before applying your moisturiser to plump up your skin to temporarily diminish fine lines, and always remember the other vital ingredient, sunscreen!  Your night time regime should also include an eye cream for the sensitive skin around your eyes, your beauty therapist at GLO will know exactly which eye cream would best suit your skin type.
The team at GLO Laser and Beauty has made Lamelle our product of choice with its extensive, scientifically proven products which will target the various skin types and problem areas that each of our clients may experience.  The next time we visit this topic of skincare according to age, our team will be focussing on skincare treatment for your 40’s and 50’s.
We invite you to enjoy your GLO experience at our stunning salon in a completely relaxed atmosphere, where you will be treated as the individual you are.
